International Football: What is it and why should you care?
Are you confused about the offside rule? Have you ever wondered why the referee wears that funny hat? Where do soccer players come from, anyway? You’re not alone! The very word football can be confusing to those who don’t already know the game, especially if they are used to American football which has almost nothing in common with international football. Read on to find out more about international football, including what it is and why it should matter to you.
The World Cup (of Football)
The World Cup, by which I mean soccer’s biggest tournament (also known as football in some countries), is one of sport’s most popular events. It brings together global superstars like Lionel Messi, global powerhouses like Brazil, and heartwarming stories such as Germany defeating Argentina at home to win their first world cup in 24 years—in front of a home crowd! The World Cup also consistently gets high ratings on TV and draws millions of visitors to host countries.
Introduction to teams
The sport of football—also known as soccer to Americans—is truly a global phenomenon. And while FIFA has 211 member countries, there are only 11 national teams that are considered elite. They’re well-known across Europe, Latin America, and Asia for their unique playing styles and star players. In fact, nine of these nations have been ranked among top 10 in recent years based on their performance in international matches. So who are they? Here’s a quick introduction to each team and what makes them so special.
The first team is Argentina, which plays with an attacking style of play that emphasizes speed and ball control through short passes. This means its players will often look to pass or dribble through opponents rather than trying long shots from distance or winning balls in physical battles with defenders. Lionel Messi, arguably one of the best footballers ever (he's certainly one of the most famous), leads Argentina's attack with his ability to take on defenders 1v1 and his impressive passing skills.
Local Teams
For most people, local football clubs are the gateway to international football. You can follow your favorite team locally – whether that’s a team from your city or one of your country’s clubs – which will then bring you into contact with international teams like Germany or Argentina. If you support a smaller team, there’s every chance they will have a massive rivalry with bigger teams from other countries.
Stadiums in whole world
There are only a few stadiums in whole world which can give you an experience like ranolodo . If we talk about top 10 best stadiums then New Anfield Stadium, Mardanoshihof Stadium , Nou Camp Stadium, Old Trafford, San Siro Stadium will be on top of them. It's very difficult to decide that which stadium is better because all of them are unique in their own way.
Watch the World Cup on TV!
Some of us like to pretend that football isn’t a global sport. Others (usually those of us who don’t play) won’t watch any games until their favorite teams make it in to final rounds. If either of these sounds like you, I encourage you to tune in for at least one game.
